Is BIAW a "Democracy?"

BIAW is NOT some kind of a democracy, where members have an unfettered right to free speech. It is a privately owned and operated discussion board. While admin tries to facilitate discussion, that doesn't give anyone free rein to spout whatever shit they want. If you come over to my house and start verbally abusing me, you will be removed. The same applies to a discussion board....

Having said that, we WILL, whenever possible, ask for input from our members, as this place IS for the members.

However, sometimes decisions need to be made and the mods and Admin will make them.

I couldn't agree more. WFs Mysty! Yes we provide a forum for discussion, and while we try to provide for all viewpoints and styles, some viewpoints and styles are just not suited to/for this venue. And as Mysty so accurately put it, this is our house... play nice or piss off! At the end of the day, we pay money to be here... you are getting a free ride. So don't even give me that "Oh you're not being fair, what happened to free speech shit"! You want free speech? Go to the flagpole and rant... I think you'll find even that has it's limitations. Well done chaps... carry on!
