Yeah giving some space is better. I know some people get pissed that riders are "jumping the queue" and overtaking them so move to the right side, but really by driving a tin box that's the sacrifice you make, getting stuck in traffic!

But the middle lane can mean a few things to different people. For me it's when traffic is slowed to a crawl or stopped and it is safe to filter through.  Driving down the center during normal traffic flow is altogether different and reckless at best and in this case I could see why some drivers might be irrate.

Much love back, Wooks Smiley

However, because of the combination of narrow roads (and no realistic way to widen them) and the increased size of the cars - your Sportages, your Tuscons, your FR-Vs, your Cashqais (Cash Cows, heh) and of course the monstrous taxis, even if drivers were able to safely hug the left side of the road, there's the chance for no wiggle room whatsoever for a passing bike - but bikes give it a go anyway.

It's tough and a real shame, and as I've mentioned in previous posts, the commute just becomes more stressful for all involved. The ideas to reduce the rush hour traffic (and hopefully reduce some of the collisions) such as having more buses, an improved ferry system (Vastly improved), carpool encouragements, haven't seen the light of day.

I suppose Govt may be angling for the taxation method, but I don't see it really encouraging Bermudians to move to public transportation or carpool too much.
