So, with Pettingill resigning from OBA, what do YOU think will happen with the Government?  and with the next election?

Now add Crockwell to the story! Should be no surprise, didn't Pettingill and Crockwell talk about starting another party? Neither PLP or OBA have shown any brilliance in managing the Country. Pettingill, Crockwell and others in both parties were/are members of the Ewrat Brown puppet show and he still pulls a lot of strings.

It doesn't take a tin foil hat to imagine some possible political scenarios being considered by Pettingill, Crockwell and Brown.

The obituary of the Bermuda Democratic Alliance will read something like this: The BDA, lured by the promise of a quick rise to power, allowed itself to get overrun by the former UBP, and in so doing allowed themselves to be cannibalized. What was not devoured and cast aside, became assimilated, Borg-style.

The OBA is, sadly, a disappointing study in how NOT to do things.

They could have led from the front by immediately cutting their own salaries by 50% (or more). They could have sold or otherwise disposed of (by re-assigning to Public Works, for instance) all the ministerial cars (including the big BMW, Governor already had one, let HIM/HER go to airport to pick up "dignitaries" if necessary). Fewer ministries, not more. Set a damn example so you can then expect your people (gov workers) to follow.

Nope, the OBA lost the moral high ground early and now have been losing the narrative on just about every issue. Good work re the airport, good work re the AC, good work re CoI and going after Brown et al but will be for nought when the PLP comes back in...and they will.

We live in a place where it is the ABSENCE of voters who determine winners and losers...those who witheld their votes last time will not do so this time as the issues important to people who have traditionally supported the PLP have not been addressed by the OBA...and what little credit they may have received is overshadowed by "Peoples" marchers/yellers and talk of chains and whips and elders being pepper sprayed. The usual dog whistle stuff but hard to counter.

So, who's in for joining the PLP? Affecting change from within? Holding them to account from within?
