Remember when you and your 'mates' played cricket in your neighbourhood with a piece of board for a bat and an orange crate for the wickets?  A tennis ball usually served as the cricket ball, and wasn't there always some big kid who always lambasted the damn thing out of the neighbourhood?

I remember it well.  I could bowl Dennis Lilley style bouncers with a tennis ball that I couldn't do with a cricket ball, which made the game so much more interesting.  Smiley

Who had a board and orange crate? ... a palmetto branch and a trash can worked for us ... no shortage of tennis balls though due to the proximity of the "better off's" facilities to our "pitch".

Got to play on Flatts Victoria field as a boy. Spoiled, I was. Except when you put a ball through Uncle Jim's window, then you'd get a good beating.
