You would not know it from the headlines but both these articles are reporting on Fahy's news conference. From RG headline you would think 4 new buses have been ordered even though they won't arrive until after AC35, not so....Fahy is still looking.
Loren is partially open with rooms starting at $1,200 per night with free WIFI, taxes, meals, etc. all extra. Azura phase one is 18 hotel residences selling for $800,000 to $2M and no estimate of completion year. St. Regis in St. George's has not broken ground yet and Fahy gave no update. Unless I have missed it, there has not been an estimate of the year the Ritz at Caroline Bay will open for guests. What is going on at Elbow Beach, Government gave them $11.8M in concessions for remodeling and reopening rooms??
The NCL tenders coming after AC35 will be for NCL passengers only and what concessions did the Government give NCL in return? Government can easily give cruise lines a reduction in dock and passenger fees without it showing up on the financial statement.
Chances of having existing ferries repaired by year end so Millennium will not be required in 2018 are slim to none. If tugs are worn out, why isn't at least one new one on order and being delivered before AC35?
Fahy's rhetoric is the same old BS that came from Ewrat, Furby and even Crockwell and you can expect the same results.
